Granting wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life-threatening illnesses
30th June 2006
On behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK I would like to thank you all for the kindness and generosity you showed to our wish child Lucy-Claire Murphy and her family on Thursday 22nd June. It is a day that Lucy will never forget.
As you saw Lucy is an amazing young lady who has to deal with her life threatening illness every day and she has faced more in her short life than most of us have to face in a whole lifetime. She has several major challenges ahead and she has told me that having her wish granted has truly made a difference to her life. She loved being taken around in her very own limo and in her words “has never felt so special in all her life”.
Lucy’s Mum asked me to send her special thanks for all the trouble you went to before the wish. Your call to the family was greatly appreciated. This was a wonderful occasion for Lucy and all her family. They loved their trip on the London Eye and their lovely dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.
As you know one of the goals of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK is to bring hope, strength and joy to children living with life threatening illnesses. A wish is not a cure, but it is a wonderful diversion from the grown up battle that these children are fighting.
Once again on behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, Lucy and her family we thank you for your generosity and compassion.
Thank you for sharing the power of a wish®.
With very best wishes
Sunday 1st October 2005 Thomas Hanson
Dear Norman and all at Kent Limos
On behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK I would like to thank you all for the help on Sunday with our wish child Thomas Hanson. I am sure you can appreciate that this is a very emotional time for all of the family, and I am truly grateful for the effort you made, in going above and beyond what was required.
